Environment is important and it is taking world nations interest in a big way in many places. We need to keep our environment neat and clean and it is paramount importance today. The world nations discuss climate crisis and India’s PM Modi has participated in it. The rate of pollution in water air and others are increasing and are causing great distress to people and we have to fight such pollution. Acid rain is happening and Jairam Ramesh for Energy minister says it might happen in India also in a meeting. Such is the case a former PM Indira Gandhi protected environment by shelving a project Silent Valley in Kerala. Many things are happening to destroy environment and we need to take steps to protect environment In all possible ways
Acid Rain In developed countries due to high rate if development acid rain takes place as normal rain gets mixed with industrial particles and reach earth. It is not useful for drinking or in cooking process and acid rain is more frequent in Western European countries. In India acid rain is not frequent due to relatively lower level of development compared to western nations.
Communication role
Environment is important and communication has a role to play in this process. Communication is informing, educating and provision of news and information on any subject and in this case on environment. Provision of environment news and developments are important in keeping nation aware on social change environment change etc. Indira Gandhi did right in protecting silent valley project in dropping it as it destroys environment in Kerala region. PM Modi had allowed Narmada dam in order for modernization and development in different way. Both decisions are important in taking country on development path and it is proving effectively.
Communication on environment as pollution acid rain and others will help administrators and others to take decisions without affecting environment and take all favorable position for people and environment.
Environmental issues receive more consideration from developed countries because of high technology and higher growth rate and pollution threatens more. Development in third world is lesser and hence human centered pollution is more a problem. The nations of the world are yet to develop a sustainable model of development and everyone is following dominant paradigm. Dominant paradigm according to Rogers is like westernization rapid industrialization rapid education and things of that sort. People claim passing of dominant paradigm has occurred but not able to substantiate with proof. It is like some government comes to power launches massive industrialization and it is off after that government goes out of power. Such things happen in all countries and including third world.
Environment is also a priority for countries like China and India embarking on development and combination of human machine interaction or some such can save environment at the same time development is compromised. It is for policy makers of such countries to take decisions and implemented it effectively.
Tamil Nadu government launched social forestry scheme with Danida aid and it has made some improvement. Many development schemes are on in PM Modis mind and he will pay attention to Environment protection also in coming days
Finally Environmental laws should implemented with precision and should benefit society at large Environment is not serious threat to people in India and other countries and environmental protection will be a lesson for all citizens of society in future.
