The Trending Mindset

June is already in sight. Most of us set our personal and professional goals for 2026 and created our growth path and roadmap.

A list of what we will and will not do. Simple resolutions like loosing weight, keeping healthy or even achieving a work/ life balance. Or, doing that new skill course you have always been chasing, getting a raise, adding value to your profession and so on. Yet focusing on strategic execution, rebooting your skills to suit the world of rapid change to continue to be your next version. But wait. A new mindset has emerged to help you ride with the wave of change and keep you surfing ahead. It’s called the Trending Mindset.

My deep research on this subject reveal that “A “trending mindset” refers to the current, widely discussed psychological framework or way of thinking dominating popular culture, social media, and personal development. It often emphasizes adaptability, continuous self-improvement, and resilience, guiding how individuals perceive challenges and process information in the modern era” (Kendra Cherry). Let’s examine the various components if the Trending Mindset to understand it better and if we align to this philosophy of approaching life, we make a conscious effort to cultivate this mindset.

Drive life in an automatic high pace mode

I have actually in life seen three types of people. One who watch things happen, one who makes things happen and one who wonder, what happened!

The Trending Mindset makes you the second category of people. You need to adopt a high degree of readiness and be a self-starter. Be self-motivated and remain self-inspired. Does not matter whether you have had a good or bad day. Adopting this mindset does not stop here. A true professional is always responsible for two critical areas of performance. The first area is what you contribute as a professional, and the second is how you ensure your team contributes at the level that they are needed to perform. Keep at an automatic full pace mode, but watch your road for new and better changes. Embrace and adopt them.

Move to the abundance mentality mode

“Moving away from scarcity, this perspective emphasizes continuous learning, cross-industry networking, and the belief that there are multiple pathways to your goals”

The abundance mindest or approach has been coined by author Stephen Covey. This approach adds the real topping to the Trending Mindset cake. Here you compete with your own self and raise the bar constantly. You celebrate the success of others and drive collaboration. Also, your focus becomes sustainability and long term. You don’t look at limitations or shortcomings but re-focus on opportunities and possibilities. However, the biggest mantra here is to practice gratitude and believing in the saying “Team work makes the dream work”

Move away from reactive surviving, re- focus on self-improvement

Recognize that true growth and breakthroughs happen when you leave your comfort zone and navigate through (Mindset Mentor broadcast)

Each time you leave your comfort zone, you fight with what you usually avoid. And whenever you manage what seems difficult to you, it helps you climb one slot higher in your quest to achieve your goals. To become a real Trending Mindset practitioner, you will need to set an environment of constant improvement and thrive in it. Some of the ways of effective self-improvement include, regular relearning. You can do this by attending knowledge sessions, listening to podcasts, talking to experts or personalities who inspire you. Learning and self-improvement as a habit really helps you leap and stay ahead as a well-informed person. Some call self-learning ‘Going to the brain gym’!

In conclusion, the Trending Mindset sets you apart from many people who keep going round and round in their circles. “The Trending Mindset emphasizes adaptability, continuous self-improvement, and resilience, guiding how individuals perceive challenges and process information in the modern era”.

It’s a small step but a giant step for you and your progress and success!
