Health communication is changing and it is growing in a complex world of today. Everyone is concerned with their health, and communication makes it possible to cure diseases easily. Health communication involves doctor patient relations medical therapy and the entire ongoing discussions between all. Health is important for everyone to keep up work and carry out day to day activities and make themselves part of society in all possible ways.
Communication in a cancer ward is to make best diagnosis and cure the disease as far as possible. Doctor patient relations in clinical setting is one area of health communication. There are other areas as communication role in Reproductive Child Health as MOHFW has RCH division and communication is required to carry the RCH goal to people. Producing TV commercials radio jingles press advertisements on health as corona is one other area that requires all people attention
MOHFW in 1999 had prepared TV commercials and radio jingles on family welfare Pneumonia and other themes and had broadcast these in various sectors. There is also the duty of IEC consultant is to tour districts and promote RCH themes and MOHFW goals as well. He used to write press releases and other materials and communicate with press and media over various ongoing schemes of the government.
Health communication media include radio, TV, print and online as well as other media like any other organization. MOHFW maintains active website and all announcements are made on it regularly. Information Education and Communication division exists in MOHFW, and it takes care of communication work of various health ministry projects and does IEC work.
Health communication is taught in communication colleges and schools in the USA and it is a growing subject in India. Taking care of communication aspects in health helps diagnosis and cure of various diseases effectively and in planning health programs for all.
Health media are many and in complex society as the US all media are required. PM Modi and France Macron launched Bharat innovates a summit of startups in Nice France. Such startups could include health care and health industry also and could help millions in curing diseases effectively. Tamil Nadu under CM Vijay collaborates with L & T and industry minister Keerthana visited South Korea for tie ups. Vijay could also consider Health and medicine manufacturing tie ups including vaccines for such dreaded viruses as Corona that killed 5 lakhs in India and one million and hundred thousand in the US
Indira Gandhi during her tenure inaugurated facilities in cancer hospitals and PM Man Mohan Singh of UPA did the same. More hospitals with treatment of terminal diseases should also be started and people should go to such hospitals for treatment frequently. Health is wealth and government should provide facilities for nutrition child health mental health and all such in an affordable manner so that citizens get the best cure for diseases and life is prolonged on earth and in our country.
PM Modi should draw a vision and mission to prolong lives of Indians during his tenure and all affordable health care and medical policy need to be evolved irrespective of caste and creed and the like in days to come. ICMR India/s leading medical body is to be consulted in evolving unique policy of treating all Indians to be free from diseases and ailments in all possible ways.
Communication media, sociologists, politicians’ civil society and others need to work in this noble cause of prolonging lives of Indian citizens in all possible ways in days to come.
