The PRomise Foundation is taking its acclaimed PRAXIS PR community platform global with an ambitious lineup of international events and initiatives, and a significant leadership addition in new CEO Arun Sudhaman.
Building on The PRomise Foundation’s Indian roots and homegrown success, the expansion kicks off with three high-profile events that aim to elevate, inspire and foster community across Asia-Pacific, Middle East and African PR markets:
- Dubai hosts the Huddle Communication Conclave on May 21 – benchmarking and recognising the MENA region’s best in-house communication teams
- Singapore becomes home to the first overseas edition of PRAXIS on October 14
- Colombo welcomes PR professionals for an exclusive Global PR Retreat later in the year
- The Brand Retreat in Bhutan, which took place last month
Underpinning these developments is the arrival of respected senior journalist and advisor Arun Sudhaman, who joins The PRomise Foundation as CEO to oversee its global expansion.
During his 15-year tenure at PRovoke Media (formerly The Holmes Report), Sudhaman helped transform the business and brand into the world’s foremost PR media and events platform, before stepping down from his twin roles of Editor-in-Chief and CEO last year. His leadership included the development of such iconic properties for the profession as the Influence 100, Global PR Rankings, Innovator 25, and Global Creative Index, along with significant worldwide expansion of PRovoke’s events footprint and editorial and research coverage.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Arun into The PRomise Foundation family,” says Amith Prabhu, Founder. “Our values and vision have aligned since 2010, when we first met. We’ve always thought there was incredible potential for collaboration; together, we’ll create extraordinary offerings for the global PR community.”
As part of their collaboration, Sudhaman will launch Earned First as a media and events community for PR and corporate affairs professionals across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. In addition to operating The PRomise Foundation’s events and properties outside India, Earned First will serve as a crucial voice for PR markets across the Global South, providing industry analysis, research, thought leadership and peer networking.
“I have long admired The PRomise Foundation’s values and homegrown spirit, so I couldn’t be happier to be joining forces with them,” said Sudhaman. “For decades, our regions have largely been understood through the lens of New York or London, but the pace of global disruption provides a unique opportunity for the rest of the world to demonstrate why it is a crucial source of innovation, creativity and cultural intelligence for the global PR and communications sector.”
Founded by Amith Prabhu and Roshan Alexander, The PRomise Foundation runs a range of profession-centric PR properties in India, starting with flagship brand PRAXIS, the world’s largest residential summit for PR professionals. With more than 11 groundbreaking editions since 2012, PRAXIS has established itself as one of the world’s most successful and inspiring communications events.
Alexander and Prabhu will remain directors in the business, working closely with Sudhaman and The PRomise Foundation to oversee the company’s other brands, which include the Reputation Today magazine and a range of events: QUORUM, REPRISE, SPECTRA, FULCRUM AWARDS, HUDDLE, INDECOMMS, PRONTO, FIESTA, ASSEMBLY, MANIFEST and the soon to be launched THRIVE and ZEST.
